ABOUT AVISTO

A glimpse into the hearts and minds of our aging loved ones.

Our goal for Avisto is to provide art engagement and guidance for seniors using a variety of mediums.  This program identifies a creative outlet for participants to express themselves through art.  Sessions are led by local volunteer artists that want to a make a difference and touch the lives of seniors.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM 

AVISTO STUDIO
Impacting the lives of those with Dementia.

Our flagship program is through a partnership with the H'Art Gallery and their on-staff Art Therapist, Brooke Montague.  We have developed a program for those impacted by some form of Dementia.

Abstract Expressionist Self Portrait

TUESDAY, APRIL 8 1:00 - 3:00

Participants will use acrylic paint with a palette knife on canvas.

Forest and Trees

TUESDAY, APRIL 15 1:00 - 3:00

Participants will use photos and tint with ink techniques.

Words and Works

TUESDAY, APRIL 22 1:00 - 3:00

Participants will create mixed media collage. 

My Landscape

TUESDAY, APRIL 29 1:00 - 3:00

Participants will create a horizontal landscape with guest instructor, Brett Billings.

Pocketful of Posies

TUESDAY, MAY 6 1:00 - 3:00

Participants will create a wall pocket vase out of clay with guest instructor, Madi Blackburn.

Weaving our Web

TUESDAY, MAY 13 1:00 - 3:00

Participants will create a sculpture using wood, string and slides. 

Art Show: Friends and Family Celebration

FRIDAY, JUNE 6 6:00 - 8:00

A showcase of artwork created during the 6 week session. Artists, Families, Friends & the public will be invited to attend, light refreshments will be served.
